"My two year old daughter woke up one morning crying hysterically - her tummy hurt. We spent all day in the doctor's office as they ran test after test. Later that afternoon, her pediatrician admitted her to Baton Rouge General.
I'm not from here, so I didn't question the doctor's instructions. But now I know exactly why she sent us to the General. When they prepped her for her CAT Scan, the tech described it to her as an amusement park ride...she gets excited every time she tells her story about 'going in the tunnel.' And each time they came in to take her vitals, they took Jack's vitals too... that's her doll who never leaves her side.
It was the most frightening few days for me, but watching them comfort her made all the difference... for me and her. Now, every morning when we pass the General on our way to school, she always shouts 'that's my hospital!'"
