Baton Rouge General prides itself on being one of the best places to work and learn in the area. Our top-rated medical schools produce high quality graduates, many who choose to work here at the General following graduation. The ability to work alongside some of the area's best nurses, most compassionate staff and leading physicians is an opportunity many new graduates are seeking...and find right here at the General.

Our culture of caring and compassion is evident in the way our employees treat each other.  They're not just co-workers...they're family. From those who work directly with our patients to those in administrative positions, there are no small roles here at the General.  It takes all of us to create our Community of Caring.

After graduating from nursing school in 1994, Lilley Howard, BSN, RN, Critical Care, began her nursing career at Baton Rouge General. Due to life changes, she left in 1997 but recently returned to the General and is working in the Critical Care Unit.

She still remembers her first three years of nursing at the General. "I was able to rely on others for their guidance, and because of them, I could better serve my patients and co-workers. I had tremendous support while I was learning and growing."
